In March 2025, the MEO Arena in Lisbon hosted two nights of an unforgettable concert by Portuguese singer and musician, Tony Carreira, where thousands of fans gathered to celebrate the music and emotion of the iconic singer. One of the major highlights of the show was the stunning lighting design, which provided a breathtaking visual experience for this heartfelt performance.

Ayrton fixtures, specifically Veloce Profile, Kyalami, and Cobra models, played a crucial role in creating a unique atmosphere for the event. Lighting designer Ramiro Martins praised the excellence of these fixtures, which delivered remarkable light definition, vibrant colours, and innovative effects.

A total of 76 Veloce Profiles, 32 Kyalami, and 22 Cobra were used, with the Veloce Profile and Cobra fixtures rigged on the upper trusses, and the Kyalami fixtures placed on the stage floor and at the sides.

« The Veloce Profiles offer phenomenal light definition, both in the air and on surfaces,” states Ramiro Martins. “Meanwhile, the Kyalami and Cobra create an extraordinary visual effect, like an endless light-sabre. The combination of prisms and frost brings the multi-faceted fixture to life, ensuring outstanding definition and contrast.”

The pure white light of these fixtures was remarkable for its intensity and quality, providing a unique brightness and an extremely smooth dimming curve that proved ideal for both special effects and front lighting. An additional key highlight was the precision of the fixtures’ movements, allowing for the creation of dynamic and immersive effects.

« Regardless of the size or weight of the fixtures, all the Ayrton fixtures delivered an astonishing performance. The speed and fluidity of the motion motors are truly impressive, » added Ramiro Martins.

The colour mixing capabilities of the Ayrton fixtures was another decisive factor in the show’s visual success. « The colours are incredibly vivid and vibrant. The intermediate pastel tones are extremely subtle, enabling the creation of unique atmospheres. The correction filters help achieve specific shades while maintaining impressive brightness, » the designer emphasized.

The selection of gobos, prism, and frost effects also contributed to a visually striking performance, allowing for a combination of elements that made each moment unique.

The Veloce Profile, Kyalami and Cobra fixtures were supplied by Ayrton distributor, NAN Audiovisuais, whose team was impressed by the durability of the fixtures, affirming: “the presence of the fixtures’ IP65-certification proved to be a significant advantage, ensuring that light quality and definition remained unaffected by dust or external conditions, simplifying maintenance and guaranteeing top-tier performance.”

Tony Carreira’s concert at MEO Arena took place on 8th and 9th March 2025. It was not just a musical success but also a true spectacle of light and colour, elevating the magic of the night for everyone in attendance.
