For commendable environmental reasons, the EU commission is intent on revising all the standards affecting entertainment lighting products.

Since 2003, with technology, ecology, stage design and product performance in mind, Ayrton has been developing exclusively digital solutions that are among the most efficient on the market.

The EU has proposed its new directives, however, without consulting the various players in the professional lighting industry. Despite the world-record efficiency of our products, achieving the new regulatory targets in the short term is difficult, if not unrealistic, simply due to physical limitations.

This would require users to fully replace their lighting rigs – yet with no alternative solutions on the market. We have until May 7 to respond to the EU commission’s proposals and quickly lay the proper foundations for professional lighting in the future.

We need everyone’s help, through direct action, to ensure that stage lighting in the European Union is not dealt a damaging blow which will impact all areas of entertainment lighting and those working in the field. The EU’s proposed Eco-Design Working Plan, without any changes, would do such a thing. We urge you to join us in supporting the Association of Lighting Designers and PLASA to encourage the EU to maintain the exemption for stage lighting. Learn more and take action. #SaveStageLighting
