Horus

The Ayrton Horus is the camera fixture that opens Ayrton’s Falconer remote followspot system to any lighting rig. Not every moving light can carry a camera on its side, and until now that could limit your choice of fixtures.

Horus removes that limit entirely. Place it wherever it gives the clearest view of the stage, and Falconer can drive any moving light, giving you total freedom to design the rig you want. Horus has been designed from the outset to be as compact as possible. Built in the housing of the Ayrton MagicDot Neo, it is small, lightweight and fast, weighing just 6.7 kg, and it can be installed as easily as any other fixture with a quarter-turn Omega bracket and a safety cable attachment point. A local control panel with an LCD display makes setup on site quick and simple. With an IP65 protection rating and IP65 connectors throughout, Horus is ready for the harshest environments, from theatres and arenas to open-air festivals in wind, rain and dust, and it operates happily from -20 °C to 45 °C. While Horus stays out in the elements, your followspot operators can stay comfortable indoors with Falconer, with a perfect view of the action and complete control of the rig. When the show moves on, Horus travels in the Falconer foam insert alongside the base station, so the complete system packs into a single, tour-ready case.

Horus uses the same camera module as the Ayrton EagleStrike, so every feature matches exactly. A 1/2.8-inch 3.7-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 30x optical zoom and a 65° field of view deliver a sharp, detailed image at any distance, while infrared modes keep performers clearly in view in even the darkest theatre scenes.

The video feed is sent over the network via NDI with adjustable bandwidth, and shutter, anti-flicker and colour settings can all be configured remotely from Falconer, so there is no need to climb into the rig to make an adjustment. Horus is fast and precise, with 540° pan and 270° tilt driven by high-resolution stepper motors and 16-bit control for extremely smooth, accurate movement, with automatic repositioning. Because the camera works independently of the lights, either one can be repositioned without compromising the other. It connects through IP65 RJ45 ports for the camera feed and for sACN, with powerCON TRUE1 TOP connectors for power. With Horus, the camera goes exactly where it is needed, and Falconer brings the natural feel of a traditional followspot to any rig, in any venue, whatever the conditions.
