Ayrton fixtures take Wing over the Rainbow at Japan’s LuckyFes ‘25
The fourth edition of Japan’s LuckyFes ’25 took place over the holiday weekend (9-11 August 2025) at Hitachinaka City’s Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki. Hosted by Ibaraki Broadcasting Corporation, LuckyFM, and BARKS, LuckyFes ’25 is Asia’s largest theme park-style festival, presenting itself as ‘A Celebration of Music, Food and Art’.
Four stages, set amongst Hitachi Seaside Park’s verdant surroundings, play host to a diverse range of music genres including pop, rock, hip-hop, anime songs and K-Pop, where over 70 of Japan’s most prominent artists entertained tens of thousands of festival goers over the course of three days.
Lighting designer, Anderson Hinago, brought Ayrton IP65-rated fixtures into his designs for two of the stages: the flamboyant Wing Stage and colourful Rainbow Stage. A total of 23 Perseo Profiles and 28 Kyalami fixtures were rigged on the Rainbow Stage’s overhead rig while the Wing Stage was graced by 13 Rivale Profile fixtures.
“We chose these Ayrton luminaires because they were able to deliver vivid and seamless colour reproductions to match the variety of carefully designed scenes for each artist,” he says. “Kyalami especially answered a unique selection criterion for space-saving, due to its compact form factor.”
Ayrton’s Perseo, Rivale and Kyalami fixtures are all IP65 rated against extremes of weather – another reason that placed them high on Mr Hinago’s wish list: “The weather in Japan can quickly turn wild in mid-summer with torrential rains and wicked winds,” he explains. “My first consideration therefore was that all my luminaires should meet IP65 standards to guarantee uninterrupted performances of the outdoor show for the enjoyment of the huge audiences attending. We are happy to report that the Ayrton fixtures withstood all the weather could throw at them!”
In conclusion, Mr Hinago says: “With this selection of Ayrton profile and beam fixtures I was able to create well-matched lighting effects that met every criteria demanded by the wide variety of musical content delivered by the programme of top artists. In doing so we managed to genuinely honour and value the diverse imaginative scenarios that are the nature of music festivals.”
The Ayrton fixtures were supplied by PRG K.K., Japan. “My connections with PRG across various countries are fundamental and long-lasting, so I trust them implicitly and was highly motivated to employ their Ayrton fixtures on the frontline of big shows like LuckyFes,” concludes Mr Hinago.
