Cesare Cremonini, one of Italy’s most prominent artists, with a solo career spanning more than twenty years, is currently on tour with a lighting design featuring Ayrton Mamba and Cobra laser-sourced lighting fixtures.

The Cremonini LIVE25 tour comprises 13 completely sold-out shows in some of Italy’s largest stadiums, with multiple dates across cities including Rome, Milan, Bologna and Bari.

Mamo Pozzoli, the tour’s lighting designer and a long-time Cesare collaborator, created a powerful and innovative lighting plot characterized by multiple moving circular structures and a strong focus on graphic fixtures.

Set within this vast design, dominated by a massive ultra-wide LED wall, Mamo carefully selected and positioned a number of high-performance beam units, namely 16 Ayrton Mamba and 48 Ayrton Cobra fixtures, all of which are situated at stage floor level.

Released in January 2025, Mamba is the first laser-sourced IP65 fixture in Ayrton’s 6 Series, equipped with a laser source twice as powerful as that of Cobra and capable of delivering a multitude of breathtaking new psychedelic effects. Cobra, Ayrton’s first IP65 rated laser-sourced fixture, has sold in thousands across the world since its release in 2022 and has set the standard for its type. Both are supremely capable of cutting through the light levels and long throw distances of the stadium shows.

The Mamba fixtures in Pozzoli’s design form an upstage line along the lower front edge of the screen, while the Cobras form a striking circular perimeter around the B-stage, positioned at the end of the catwalk which stretches into the centre of the audience.

Pozzoli explains some of his reasons for choosing Mamba and Cobra: “Within a layout dominated by a strong video presence and distinctive geometric shapes, my focus was on harmonizing all the visual elements,” he says. “My aim was to select lighting fixtures that could both interact flexibly within the overall design and stand out as independent protagonists when needed.

“It’s clear that the ability to combine precision tracking with dynamic, creative expression is becoming increasingly essential for delivering impactful and immersive stage experiences. In this sense, both Mamba and Cobra really bring these features to the next level, each with its own unique strengths.

“The Mambas impressed me with their high output and multi-functional versatility – a notable attribute in this product category, which often prioritizes single-mode operation. This was my first deployment of the Mambas, and I found their optical systems and extensive prism combination capabilities particularly advanced.

“The Cobras, on the other hand, already represent a benchmark in their class and, for this tour, I aimed to redefine their role by employing them in a non-traditional uplight configuration, exploring new creative potentials.”

Some of these creative effects included the successful use of the Mambas during the acoustic set to achieve a powerful combined prism effect, backlit and aimed precisely at the piano on the B-stage from a distance of at least 50m, virtually at floor level.

Additional impactful looks were created using the Cobras in their natural home position to deliver upward-focused beams from the floor. “By combining endless pan with tilt movements, and thanks to the circular fixture layout around the small stage, I could use them to generate complex interlaced fan shapes with high visual dynamics,” confirms Pozzoli.

Cesare Cremonini’s last shows for the Cremonini LIVE25 tour will take place in Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on 17th and 18thJuly in front of capacity crowds.
