Designer relations manager

AYRTON, the world leader in digital lighting entertainment solutions, is looking for an experienced, ambitious and driven Designer Relations Manager. This exciting new role is focused on the long term, building Ayrton’s brand within the lighting design and specification community across markets and territories.
The ideal candidate will have excellent relationships with lighting designers and specifiers (in any market), think strategically and have passion for the brand. The ability to support an established team of sales professionals and the best distribution network in the industry are essential competencies for this role.
The right candidate will be someone excited by the challenge of taking this new role and making it their own, operating in a flexible environment, being proactive and working on their own initiative. All the while being backed by an ambitious and focused company.

  • Build and manage relationships on a global basis- seeing (and demoing gear with) at least 120 different designers, consultants, specifiers and influencers per year.
  • At least 50% of focus on emerging influencers
  • Grow new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, in order to promote AYRTON
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns directed at designers, consultants, specifiers and influencers
  • Develop and execute a next generation program (i.e. future design and talent capture)
  • Collect competitive data, such as competition pricing, technology and channel movement and report back to management (Market research)
  • Escort designers on factory visits. Both to France and China
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers
  • Help optimize AYRTON’s marketing strategies and marketing activities
  • Continually refine our marketing process to convert customers.
  • Support AYRTON at the key intl. trade fairs
  • Assist Sales director to make monthly, quarterly and annual plans.
  • Report back to R&D in terms of product feedback
  • Travel: >60% of the time


  • Excellent working relationships with key designers, consultants, specifiers and influencers
  • Excellent reputation within your market and existing relationships
  • Responsible, efficient, result-oriented, good business sense and the ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Team player: although many tasks are individual, the sales organisation will function as a team
  • Ability to set priorities, be flexible, multi-task and meet deadlines in a constantly changing environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Structured and organized reporting skills
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices of the entertainment production and staging industry.
  • Ability to cope with a demanding work load that is continually fluctuating
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent written and spoken other languages will be advantageous
